Shot Scope

Project outline

Overview

Redesign and refocus of our mobile app to a companion app. Navigating a code migration, delivering a core set of functionality and growing our month engagement metrics.

Outcomes

iOS app

The iOS app for Shot Scope diverged slightly from the rest of the Shot Scope experience as I felt it was better to design for iOS (Appleā€™s Human Interface Guidelines) where possible rather than adhering strictly to the Material design guides. This would benefit users who were more familiar to the UI elements or experiences within the iOS environment. Both apps follow a dark theme as this allows the stats graphics and maps to stand out more clearly.

Android app

The Shot Scope android app was designed using the Material Design 2 guides, except a few custom components. I worked closely with the Android developer to better learn the platform as it wasn't one I was used to. This expanded my knowledge of UX as a whole. The navigation of the app was completely different to iOS as it utilized a native left drawer navigation rather than a bottom nav design. Which is a common navigation type for native android phones.
